In the framework of the activities of the PhD programme in Mathematical Sciences of the Università degli Studi di Milano and of the MSCA-ITN project BIGMATH, professor
Alessandra Micheletti
Università degli Studi di Milano
will offer a PhD course on
Stochastic geometric methods for complex systems
The course will be focussed on stochastic geometric methods for the modelling and the statistical analysis of random shapes.
The course will include the shape theory of Kendall, the theory of random functions and elements of functional statistics. The course will be complemented with computer labs, based on the software R, where case studies will be submitted to the students, following thus a hands-on training approach.
Scheduling
The course will be held at the Department of Mathematics, Università degli Studi di Milano, Via C. Saldini n.50 – Milano
from Monday July 1 to Friday July 5, 2019
Daily scheduling: 10:00-13:00 and 14:30-16:30 (5 hours per day)
Room: aula dottorato, 1st floor (for computer classes we will move to the lab LIR1, 2nd floor)
